Skilled Carpenter/Labourer

Position Overview:

Marrbeck is seeking a skilled carpenter to join our team. Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent and the Director of Field Operations, the Carpenter will play a crucial role in the construction phase of various projects. This position involves working both independently and as part of a project team, ensuring that carpentry work is performed to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
• Perform Carpentry Tasks: Execute a range of carpentry duties including framing, installation of doors, windows, cabinetry, and trim work.
• Blueprint Reading: Interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
• Quality Control: Ensure all work is completed to a high standard, meeting both safety and quality requirements.
• Material Handling: Select and use appropriate materials and tools for specific tasks.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other trades and construction personnel to achieve project objectives.
• Problem Solving: Address and resolve any carpentry issues or challenges that arise on-site.

The Carpenter receives direct supervision from the Site Superintendent, with an emphasis on:
• Promoting and adhering to Marrbeck's Safety Culture
• Maintaining Integrity and Business Ethics

Education, Experience & Skills:

• Valid Class 5 Drivers License, or ability to get to site by your own means.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• CSA approved steel toed boots.
• Physically fit and able to handle manual labor.
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
• Critical thinking and effective decision-making skills.
• Experienced with basic power tools and safe operating procedures.
• High attention to detail.
• General carpentry skills or the desire to learn carpentry skills is an asset.
• Knowledge of and experience in the construction industry is an asset.
