Macdonald Youth Services Youth Hostel Renovation

Marrbeck Construction worked with the Macdonald Youth Services (MYS) group to renovate a 100 year old historic house into a youth hostel for at risk children. The hostile is now operational and functioning at capacity. Marrbeck was involved as a Construction Manager on this project providing pre-construction services which included hiring the consultant team, budgeting, value engineering and project scope development. Construction services included ensuring schedule, quality and costs were managed effectively and in the post construction services ensuring all warranty items were completed to the owner’s satisfaction. Marrbeck worked effectively with all stake holders to ensure the project was delivered on time, on budget and to the high quality standards.

The project included the renovation of a 4,500 square foot 100 year old historic house into an eight bed youth hostel. Work included for remedial structural work, the complete removal, design and installation of new mechanical and electrical systems, reconfiguring existing spaces to accommodate a functioning kitchen, office spaces, bedrooms, elevator and general living spaces.
